Stamp set of genius composer Beethoven is introduced
On the 250th anniversary of genius composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s birth, on 16 December 2020, the Ministry of Information and Communications issues the stamp set “Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827)" to commemorate and salute his contributions to the world music and art. The stamp set consists of one stamp and one block, designed by Artist Pham Quang Dieu.

The stamp set features the portrait of the musician Beethoven, the background of stamp and block is illustrated with his home (a heritage), where Beethoven was born and grew up in his apartment at 20 Bonngasse Street, Bonn (the former capital of Germany) near Rhine riverside, with his usual musical molds and instruments used for composing.
Stamp size is 43 x 32 (mm) and Block size is 100 x 80 (mm), with face values of 4,000 VND and 15,000 VND. The stamp set is available on the postal network from 16 December 2020 to 30 June 2022.
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 –1827) is a great German composer with great influence on the Western artistic music traditions, especially during the transition of classical and romantic music. His music and composing style strongly affected next generations of composers, musicians, and listeners. Beethoven left the world with a huge volume of works in a variety of genres: opera, balett, symphony, camarazene, mise, duo, trio, kvartett, sonata, pre-quartet, chorus, poet music…
