Vietnam Post and Hitachi Group enhance the implementation of the Electronic Payments project
On 24th August 2017, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong met with the Hitachi Group delegation led by Mr. Toshiaki Higashihara, CEO of Hitachi Japan. Before that, at the Head Office of Vietnam Post, Chairman of the Board of Management Do Ngoc Binh, President & CEO Pham Anh Tuan and representatives of relating Divisions had discussed with the Delegation of Hitachi Group.

Hitachi Group and Vietnam Post have relationship in various fields of cooperation, particularly the project Electronic payments (E-Money) focusing on the application of information technology in customer data managerment, customer ID card management for the most convenient payment of customer.
Currently, the pilot project of pensions payment and social allowances for beneficiaries through electronic card was implemented in Binh Giang (Hai Duong) and in Thanh Tri district (Hanoi). For the time being, each recipient would own 01 (encoded) electronic card containing the entire information of the card holder, such as: Photo, fullname, date of birth, identity card number, address, transaction history, information of authorized person. With this payment card, recipient could go to card payments facilities to be paid conviniently, quickly and precisely by Postal staff. Besides, paying by card would also help to simplify payment procedure; reduce manual steps for payment staff; improve management efficiency for relating authorities.
Besides the implementation of the mentioned project, Vietnam Post and Hitachi Group would also expand the application of electronic payment for various services of Vietnam Post nationwide.
Highly appreciated the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in recent years, including Vietnam Post and Hitachi Group, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hong committed that the Ministry of Information and Communications would continue to create favorable conditions for the two enterprises to develop the project, creating a favorable investment environment for Hitachi to open up many other projects throughout Vietnam.

Before that, at the Head Office of Vietnam Post, Chairman of the Board of Management Do Ngoc Binh, President & CEO Pham Anh Tuan and representatives of relating Divisions had discussed with the Delegation of Hitachi Group. At the meeting, Mr. Toshiaki Higashihara, CEO of Hitachi Group and Chairman of the Board of Management of Vietnam Post evaluated the achieved cooperation results between two enterprises so far. At the same time, two Leaders discussed and exchanged the optimal solutions for the implementation of E-Money project in the coming time.
