Vietnam Post pilots to pay by VNPAY - QR at 9 post offices

In order to diversify payment solutions, especially non-cash payments from 1 November 2020 Vietnam Post Corporation (Vietnam Post) implemented the pilot of the payment via scanning the code VNPAY – QR. This is considered a simple, easy but high security and safe solution.

This solution takes advantage of the available infrastructure of the mobile banking application, users do not need to download more applications or link bank accounts as with other methods.

Hanoi Post is the first subsidiary of Vietnam Post to be selected to implement the VNPAY - QR payment at 09 post offices in Hanoi, namely: Central Post Office, Trang Tien, Thang Long, Cau Dien, Cau Giay, Dong Da and 03 COD post offices in Hoan Kiem, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem.

Accordingly, at the above post offices, customers can scan VNPAY - QR code to pay for any services such as post and delivery services, collection services, newspaper distribution services, purchasing consumer goods, telecommunications cards…

Currently, VNPAY - QR is connected with more than 40 banks, e-wallets so customers can be easy in non-cash payment. They can simply log in to the application of banks or linked e-wallets then scan the VNPAY - QR code at the post office counter to quickly pay their fees without cash.

For customers using COD services, e-commerce delivery services, receiving payment at addresses in Hoan Kiem, Cau Giay, Nam Tu Liem, they can also pay in the form of VNPAY - QR. When receiving goods items, customers can access the bank application or e-wallets with connection, then scan the VNPAY-QR (of postmen, postal staff) for payment.

The use of payment via VNPAY - QR code will bring a new and convenient experience for customers of Vietnam Post. The scan of VNPAY - QR also ensures that personal information is confidential and safe. 

For Vietnam Post, the implementation of VNPAY - QR also contributes to improving customers’ experience, while better supporting the management and maximizing the payment process of enterprises with a network covering all communes and villages.

Moreover, this payment form also brings opportunities for Vietnam Post to reach millions of Mobile Banking users of banks or e-wallets.

So far, QR Pay has been used on 32 banking applications and 8 e-wallets.

From 1 November to 31 December 2020, customers paying for all services of Vietnam Post at 9 pilot post offices via VNPAY – QR on Monday and Thursday will receive 10% discount on payment fee (maximum 30,000VND); from Friday to Sunday 5% discount (maximum 100,000 VND).
