In recent days, Vietnam Post continues to become one of the key organizations to support farmers during their harvest season to consume agri-products, especially through Thereby, helping farmers gradually recover the economy, contributing to ensuring the supply chain for agri-products nationwide.

Only in the fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam Post has supported about 254,000 suppliers, who are agricultural production households, to open their own digital booths on the and consume nearly 1,000 tons of agricultural products, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. For instance, Lang Son’s Custard apple was sold nearly 100 tons, Dong Thap’s and Hung Yen’s Longan were sold nearly 300 tons, Phuc Trach’s Pomelo (Ha Tinh province) was reached the comsumption of 163 tons...

Vietnam Post’s staffs are helping agriculture households at their farms

According to economic experts, this completely new method to consume agri-products will not only help farmers solve the problem of products output during the pandemic, but also open a new, efficient, and sustainable way of consuming agri-products in future.

Mr. Phan Trong Le, Director of Brand Research and Development Department of Vietnam Post, said that the average daily traffic to platform has reached nearly 10,000 times, which is a sharp increase compared to the previous. Most consumers access the platform and choose to buy agri-products, such as local fruits and specialties.

Many customers have converted from buying agri-products directly to buying through e-commerce platforms. All agri-products listing on the e-commerce platform are selective and the best qualified products of such households, with clear origin and uniform quality.

“Although the households are new to the sales method on e-commerce platform, they have already known to utilize the advantages and strengths of the digital platform to introduce products and gradually build their own brands. There were some households selling 1/3 of their production output right after a week listing products on the platform. Customer groups of agricultural production households are currently expanded and more diverse. Many farmers are no longer worried about depending on traders/middlemen during their harvest season", said Mr. Le.

Vietnam Post has a priority transport stream for agricultural products to ensure delivery time and its quality.

Mr. Chu Quang Hao, President and CEO of Vietnam Post, said that the few last month of the year is the golden period to consume goods and agricultural products, while the consumer demands for agri-products increases, especially during Tet holidays when the sales volume can increase 200% compared to weekdays. In addition to supporting activities for farmers to open booths on, Vietnam Post speeds up other directly supporting programs for the agri-products’ comsumption by many strengths of a delivery, e-comerce logistics enterprise.

For instance: an annoucement of reasonable shipping rate policies; arrangement of cold storage in many provinces and cities to ensure the goods quality as newly harverted ones; coordination with suppliers to discount on products’ prices during Tet holidays and other holidays; creatation of flexible product combos which are suitable for many targets...

Especially, Vietnam Post has created a priority transportation stream for agri-products to ensure the delivery time and its  quality, to avoid crushing, at the same time, arrange a safe qualified storage area while waiting for transport.

“In order to contribute to economic recovery, especially in the agricultural sector, we have built and divided agri-products into two lines: regular and seasonal consumption. With each product line, Vietnam Post has a suitable consumption plan to ensure the best efficiency for agricultural households, Mr. Chu Quang Hao affirmed.

Besides, Vietnam Post has also developed the comsumption plan for each product line based on the region: in the region, sub-region and inter-region, to adjust the service area of the products on, then to ensure the qualified products when reaching the final consumer.
