Special issue of stamp set "Bach Dang Victory (1288)"
In the morning of July 18, 2020 in Quang Ninh, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province to organize the special launching ceremony of the stamp set "Bach Dang Victory (1288)".

Participants attending the launching ceremony include Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications; Mr. Dang Huy Hau, Standing Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh People's Committee., Mr. Nguyen Hai Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Management of Vietnam Post.
The stamp set recreates the battle on the historic Bach Dang River with the "Saturn" vigor of the entire people. The context is when the tide recedes at the mouth of Bach Dang River with the image of a series of Mongol-Yuan ships being punctured by wood piles; The armies of the Tran King in the drumbeat of the battle raged forcefully; Enemy ships were burned; the enemy was annihilated, the flames were burning so sky that the invaders panicked. The stamp also clearly depicts the image of the horse-riding leader of the battle together with the army to destroy Mongol-Yuan army. The Bach Dang Battle map also illustrates this great victory.
The stamp set is a historical film to record the enormous achievements of Vietnamese people and army. It shows the strategic talent of Commander-in-chief of the army, Grand Prince Hung Dao of Hung Dao Tran Quoc Tuan.
With hot tones, the stamp set has successfully demonstrated the fierce spirit of the troops in the largest naval battle in the Vietnamese history.
The stamp set is designed with with overflow margins with the size of 54 x 37 (mm) by Designer Nguyen Du, Vietnam Post. The stamps are provided on the public postal network from July 18, 2020 to June 30, 2022.
Stamp design "Bach Dang Victory (1288)"
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Mr. Pham Anh Tuan affirmed that the Bach Dang Victory in 1288 was the victory of the people's power, a symbol of heroic mettle and strong indomitable will and solidarity in the defense of Viet Nam's sovereignty. The victory is considered to be the largest naval battle in Viet Nam’s history, the most typical victory of Dai Viet's people among three wars against Mongol-Yuan invaders with comprehensive strategy, opening a new era of independence of the nation.
In order to affirm the significance and great value of Bach Dang Victory in fighting against foreign invaders, defending the country, contributing to the education of cultural and historical traditions for the younger generations, the Ministry of Information and Communication coordinated with Quang Ninh People's Committee to hold the special launching ceremony of the stamp set "Bach Dang Victory (1288)".
Deputy Minister Pham Anh Tuan said that with its own language, containing various meanings, the stamp set would be a multi-dimensional messages, contributing to introduce, promote and raise the awareness and responsibility of the whole people in preserving and promoting the cultural and historical values of Bach Dang historical site.
Earlier, the stamp set "Anniversary of 700 years of Victory against Mongol-Yuan invaders (1288-1988)" was issued on April 9, 1988, including 02 stamps, stamp 1 depicting of the victorious army and stamp 2 describing Bach Dang naval battle. The stamp set was designed by Designer Tran Luong.
